This particular cabinet was a Stern "Super Cobra". It was completely stripped. That includes all wiring, power supply, CPU board, control panels, etc. You can see in the picture that the coin door was removed for cleaning and painting and the glass top was removed. A brand new "tempered" glass top will be installed along with a brand new graphic underlay.
The old monitor is removed and a brand new "Korteck" 19' monitor is installed. The original monitor brackets are used. There is a remote for brightness, contrast, etc. that is fixed to the cabinet directly inside the coin door. You can see in the picture that the whole top part of the cabinet flips back for easy service access.
Brand new control panels feature new joysticks and buttons
as well as a new graphic overlay. A new wiring harness is
installed and neatley routed throughout the cabinet. A new
switching 15 amp power supply is also installed for long
reliability. The original transformer however, is left in this
game and usually are since most do not ware out. The cabinet
is then cleaned out and original coin box reinstalled.
"The finished product". The painted coin door and speaker grills
are reinstalled and the whole cabinet scrubed down. The side
trim on the left and right sides are also repainted. The cabinet
weighs approx. 150lbs and is very easy to transport. The top
portion of the cabinet is latched to the base using two latches.
Coin door comes with brand new lock and keys. The game can
be set on
"free play" or "coin play" the coin door is completely
functional.
